Having a daily prayer life is one of the most powerful habits you can form in your life. Praying is communicating with God. Often we think that communicating is only speaking. However, communication involves speaking and listening.

There are different types of prayer. Some of these include; Petition, intercession, supplication, thanksgiving and of course prayers of spiritual warfare.

Prayer will often involve speaking and making declarations. However, often it will simply involve being in a state of soaking and meditation waiting to hear the soft still voice of the Holy Spirit and leaning in to await his direction and leading for your life.

When Jesus taught his disciples to prayer

He said;

“Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”

(Matthew 6:9-10).

Prayer is about seeking Gods will and plan for our lives. Whatever we magnify, we make larger. Prayer takes our focus off problems, off our situations and our circumstances and places the focus on God and Heavenly solutions. When we magnify God and seek Gods will we make His agenda and His plans the main focus for our lives. This is the power of Prayer.
